1 lb (450g) chicken tenders

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup panko breadcrumbs (for extra crunch)

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp dried parsley

Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Vegetable oil (for frying)

4 large flour tortillas

1 cup shredded lettuce

1 medium tomato, diced

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup ranch dressing

Instructions
 

Marinate the Chicken: In a medium mixing bowl, immerse the chicken tenders in buttermilk, ensuring they are fully coated. Allow them to soak for at least 30 minutes to tenderize and enhance flavor. For optimal results, marinate for up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.

    Prepare the Breading Mixture: In a shallow dish, combine the panko breadcrumbs, all-purpose flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried parsley, and a generous pinch of salt and pepper. Stir together until evenly mixed.

      Coat the Chicken: After marinating, remove the chicken tenders from the buttermilk, letting any excess liquid drip off. Individually dredge each tender in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to ensure a good coverage of breadcrumbs.

        Fry the Tenders: In a large skillet, heat about 1/4 inch of vegetable oil over medium heat. To check if the oil is ready, drop in a small amount of the breadcrumb mixture; if it sizzles immediately, it’s ready. Fry the chicken tenders in batches, cooking for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy. Ensure the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (75°C).
