Ingredients

6 large eggs

1/2 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

1 large apple (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith), thinly sliced

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

8 small whole grain slider buns

4 slices of cheddar cheese, each sliced in half

2 tablespoons maple syrup (optional, for drizzling)

Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, crack the eggs and add the milk, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Use a whisk to blend everything together until thoroughly combined, then set aside.

Cook the Apples: In a skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Once the butter is melted, add the thinly sliced apples to the pan. Sprinkle the apples with ground cinnamon. Sauté the apples for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender and slightly golden. Once done, remove the skillet from the heat and set the apples aside.

Cook the Eggs: In the same skillet that previously held the apples, pour in the prepared egg mixture. Cook over medium heat, using a spatula to gently stir the eggs. Cook for approximately 5-6 minutes, or until the eggs are fully cooked but still fluffy; be careful not to overcook them. Once cooked, remove the skillet from the heat.

Assemble the Sliders: Take the small slider buns and slice each one in half horizontally. On the bottom half of each bun, place a generous spoonful of the scrambled eggs, followed by a few slices of the sautéed apples, and then add a half slice of cheddar cheese on top.

Melt the Cheese: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Arrange the assembled sliders on a baking sheet, ensuring they are evenly spaced. Bake in the oven for about 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the buns are warmed through.

Serve: If desired, drizzle the sliders with maple syrup for added sweetness. Garnish with fresh mint leaves to enhance flavor and presentation. Place the top halves of the buns back on each slider, serve them warm, and relish the delightful combination of flavors in your delicious breakfast sliders!
