Ingredients

12 slider buns (preferably Hawaiian style)

1 pound sliced honey-baked ham

12 slices Swiss cheese

1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter, melted

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon poppy seeds

1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat the oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C), allowing it to reach the desired temperature while you prepare the sliders.

Prepare the baking dish: Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish using non-stick spray or a small amount of softened butter. This will prevent the sliders from sticking as they bake.

Assemble the sliders: Carefully slice the slider buns in half horizontally, keeping the top halves attached to each other. Place the bottom halves snugly into the greased baking dish. Layer half of the sliced honey-baked ham evenly over the bottom buns, followed by one slice of Swiss cheese on each. Add the remaining ham, and then crown these layers with another slice of Swiss cheese. Finally, gently place the top halves of the buns back on to complete your slider assembly.

Make the sauce: In a small mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Whisk until all ingredients are well incorporated and the mixture is smooth.

Spread the sauce: Generously drizzle the prepared butter mixture evenly over the tops of the assembled sliders. Ensure every bun gets a good amount of the sauce for maximum flavor. Use a pastry brush to help spread it out evenly if desired.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil to prevent the sliders from browning too quickly. Place it in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes. After this time, carefully remove the foil and continue to bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the tops are a lovely golden brown and the cheese has melted deliciously.

Garnish and serve: Once out of the oven, allow the sliders to rest for a few minutes. If using, sprinkle the freshly chopped parsley over the top for a pop of color and additional flavor. Slice the assembled sliders into individual portions and serve warm, ready to delight your guests.
